The hotel view and the relaxation. you can easily make daytrips from there and lateron relax at the pool or the beach.
The location, a previous happy stay.
The Hotel did not have the room with balcony that we had booked. Staff then wanted to charge for an upgrade to a room without a balcony. When we rejected this another receptioist tried again to get us to pay extra. When we showed the Booked.net confirmation to be clear that we had reserved a room with balcony the receptioinst treated us like we were stupid and started to argue. She dismissed us by saying she would speak to the manager but not for 2 hours. It became clear that our booked room was being used for guests requesting a a late check out. Five hours later when we were getting ready to go out the staff then tried to move us into the room that they had previously denied was availlable. ( the people with the late check out had left) Our stay was ruined by the way we were treated.I Do not understand how hotels can foist inferior rooms on online bookers. . We did not get the service we expect from a good hotel and are concerned that our booking was not honoured.I Hope that booking .com can investigate as other bookers may be ripped off too
Awesome location, pay the extra for a sea view room
The hotel is situated in a somewhat isolated place surrounded only by sea and mountains, with 10-15 minutes drive to the airport and the city of Alghero. The bus stop is just outside the hotel so it is very easy to get to the city and to Capo Caccia (the main sightseeing of the Alghero district - the Neptun grotto). The beach is rocky and vast. The platforms with sun beds and shelters are far from each other so you can enjoy calm and privacy. The cuisine is very good with lots of fish and seafood. Four course dinner in the restaurant is offered at good price (32 euro comparing to 45-55 euro in the city).
The hotel offers no entertainment at all, that makes it a bit boring for a long stay. We wished they organized some live music or performances in the evenings because all you can do there is to go to the bar/restaurant, or watch tv in the room (with a pretty bad selection of English channels by the way). The natural park Porto Conte is worth visiting once or twice but its entrance is 15 minutes walk from the hotel and there is really not much to see. Also the beach management could be better. Sometimes we could not find a place because many people came early in the morning, stayed for a few hours and then just left their towels on sun beds till the end of the day. The hotel manager told us that that was unlawful but the towels were never removed. The room with a garden view was pretty small, with a tiny closet and only one chair. We had an impression they gave us a single room for two persons. The soap and shampoo were surprisingly basic for a 4stars hotel (bad smell, no hair conditioner and body lotion)
Location is great, fantastic view
It is okay to stay here for couple nights, but I would not stay here for a long vacation. Breakfast is average. I think hotel needs to improve its facilities a little bit.
The hotel is in a beautiful setting. The staff were really very friendly.
The bar food was very limited, you could only get toasted ham and cheese sandwiches which were really small.
Although we stayed in October the weather was still warm just not warm enough for the pool, but must be wonderful in summer. Hotel is clean and stylish with a spacious feel to it, ideal for a relaxing break.
Fantastic location, private sun terrace area, quiet hotel. Very helpful reception staff.
Terrific location and views across Porto Conte. Sunbathing areas cleverly designed. Staff friendly and helpful. Spacious lounge and bar areas.
For a 4 star hotel the facilities were disappointing. Some points :- Sauna not in use. Little choice of bar food during the day. Received a toasted ham and cheese sandwich using a crust of bread. Lunch in the dining room priced at €32 - the same price as for dinner. Very low occupancy during our stay ( less than 20% ) so little atmosphere and consequently went elsewhere for dinner. Extra charge for scrambled eggs at breakfast time. Luke warm water for tea. Little general information available about the area. No recreation room E.G. for table tennis, snooker. Virtually nothing to occupy couples with children. Overall impression was of a hotel gaining maximum mileage from its superb location and well designed building and sunbathing areas but almost complacent about its facilities. In a difficult global tourist market management need to improve their offering and pricing. Otherwise occupancy levels will be low.
The view of the Hotel
No big bed available. They offered to single bed side by side.
The hotel is 20 min drive from Alghero. People who want to have à very quit stay, this hotel is good. Because it is a very big hotel, you have the feeling you're alone in the hotel. It's a hotel with a lot of potential but they do not use it. The prices in Sardinia for the hotels are over rated!!! Paying 250 for a night in 4stars hotels is not the same you get in other countries.
The peaceful location. The weather! The sea.
Sandwiches at the bar at lunch were a bit disappointing.
The view of the bay from the room balcony is stunning. The direct access to the sea via the cliff and to the swimming pool are added values.
The service could be better, being a 4 stars Hotel. The food is good, but we were especting something more given the mention in the Michelin 2012. Facilities are amazing, but the staff is not always helpful or prepared (maybe it was just the beginning of the peak season)
Very good views from elevated position. Terraces and restaurant all have views 'to die for'. The restaurant had a very good but different menu each day and the standard of cuisine was impeccable. There were choices for each course but even so the menus would not have suited people who did not care for sea food and fish. We liked it.
A car is essential because the hotel is in an isolated position and there is not much of interest within walking distance. There is a bus service from the hotel but the times were not regular all day. We have no complaints about the hotel itself.
nothing was open, we arrived in June and expected all facilities to be operational. even the restaurant was not properly available
